Film Review: Rock Of Ages
Rating: 7/10
A small town girl Sherrie (Julianne Hough) and a city boy Drew (Diego Boneta) meet on Sunset Strip while in LA pursuing their Hollywood dreams.
Set in the 80s, the focus is on Sherrie who has moved to Hollywood from her small Midwestern hometown. On her first day in Hollywood her suitcase full of rock records is stolen, and she meets Drew, an aspiring singer currently working at the Bourbon Rooms, when he tries to help her. Drew offers her a job and she's in luck as the legendary rock star Stacee Jaxx (Tom Cruise) is performing at this bar. It all seems perfect until Drew and Sherrie have a big misunderstanding.
Director:
Adam Shankman (Hairspray, A Walk To Remember)
Cast:
Julianne Hough
Diego Boneta
Tom Cruise
Malin Akerman
Alec Baldwin
Russell Brand
Paul Giamatti
Mary J. Bilge
Catherine Zeta-Jones
Pros:
Having never seen the theatre production, I went to the cinema with no expectations and no other versions in mind to compare it to.
The quality cast was by far the best aspect of this film, with the cast performing classic rock anthems such as Journey's 'Don't Stop Believing' and Whitesnake's 'Here I Go Again'.

Film Review: Men in Black 3
Film Rating: 4/5
Here comes the Men in Black... Again Overview:Agent J (Will Smith) travel back in time to the groovy 60s to stop alien Boris the Animal (Jemaine Clement) from killing his friend Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) and prevent an alien invasion however trying to cooperate with young Agent K (Josh Brolin) proves to be more difficult then planned.
Cast:
Will Smith
Josh Brolin
Tommy Lee Jones
Jemaine Clement
Emma Thompson
Director:Barry Sonnenfeld
Pros:Having already been a huge fan of the other two films, I went into the cinema expecting a disappointing sequel however i came out surprisingly pleased. It stuck to the conventions of a MIB film: Will Smiths funny one liners, creepy aliens, grumpy Agent K, gadgets, an emotional back story and of course the black suits.
